Our Unix-based servers run a customized
version of Red Hat Linux and are optimized for performance, reliability
and scalability. Our Unix servers can provide a vast array of functions
for your organization or personal needs. Our Unix machines are perfect
for the non or new server administrator as each of our machines come
pre-configured with our proprietary administration software that makes
setting up domains and features as well as all server administration quick
The data center is connected to an OC48 SONET ring. This SONET ring
provides OCDC-1 with a dedicated OC12 capacity bandwidth line. This
provides our clients with the most reliable, fastest possible,
connectivity for their website.
Matrix 5000 UPS device. Not only do we have two megawatts of dedicated
power, but the 240 volt circuitry with expandable SmartCell batteries
automatically provides power for hours during a blackout situation.
The emergency backup systems include a
245,000 watt diesel powered generator capable of powering OCDC-1 for more
than 240 hours. Our full daily client-content backups and hourly system
backups ensure no data loss to any OCDC-1 housed server, while our 110GB
Exabyte Tape Library automatically backs up mission-critical data.
The OC12 is directly connected to Cox Communication's nationwide fiber
backbone. BGP4 is being used on all border and core routers to ensure the
closest and quickest path between every request is utilized. Cisco routers
are the core of OCDC-1. All routers are configured with Cisco's hot
standby router protocol (HSRP) which will re-route traffic around network
failures. In addition, we utilize a Cisco Catalyst Series Etherswitch with
full GigE connectivity, Bay Networks 100Mbit Ethernet Adapters, 19''
seismically braced cabinets, Category-5 cabling, and the CDC-01 is a
carrier-neutral facility with cross-connects available to all bandwidth
providers on 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1000Mbps (GigE) connections.
As a security precaution, there is a guard on duty 24 hours a day, seven
days a week. Motion detectors and internal cameras are supplemented by
alarm monitoring by A-1 Central Station.
